A 2 day course on advanced injection moulding under rubber dam isolation. Techniques covered are indicated for full mouth reconstruction, complicated anterior teeth and to tackle anterior and the posterior dentition under full isolation

Meet The Lecturers

Dr Kostas Karagiannopoulos

Kostas is an experienced specialist prosthodontist, an academic and a researcher. He has been involved in academia since 2008 and is now a Clinical Lecturer at University College London.

He leads Bio-Emulation in the UK, an international group of dentists united by the drive to preserve and restore dental tissues using nature as a guide.

He co-founded Prosthoworks delivering advanced private prosthodontic education since 2021. His areas of interests are fully guided composites, managing the worn dentition and naturally looking prostheses. He also works in specialist practice limited to Prosthodontics in the London area.

Dr Zohaib Ali

Zohaib is a specialist prosthodontist with expertise in advanced rehabilitative and biomimetic dentistry. A distinction-holder from King’s College London, he combines clinical precision with hands-on work in the dental lab, delivering exceptional outcomes in restoring and replacing teeth.

As co-founder of ProsthoWorks, Zohaib has pioneered techniques in injection molding, including advanced layering and surface texturing. He collaborates with leading dental technicians worldwide and is an active member of Bio-Emulation. Alongside clinical interests, Zohaib operates The Prostho Lab, a bespoke dental lab specialising in case diagnostics and ultra-natural outcomes.

Balancing patient care with global collaborations and innovation in the lab, Zohaib also shares his knowledge as an international lecturer, mentoring professionals and advancing the standards of modern dentistry.

DAY ONE

  • You should be able to identify challenges and their solutions when using injection moulding for the posterior dentition under rubber dam isolation.
  • You should be able to optimise a wax up for posterior injection moulding.
  • You should be able to describe and use the semi-indirect technique with pre-fabricated composite tabletop onlays.
  • You should be able to complete predictable posterior restorations.
  • You should be able to utilise a clear stent with heated composite paste.

WHAT’S COVERED

  • Isolate a quadrant to allow for Injection Moulding
    Inject premolars directly with clear stent.
  • Stamp technique on a molar with heated paste on a clear stent.
  • Fabricate and cement a composite tabletop onlay (semi-indirect technique).

DAY two

  • You should be able to identify challenges and their solutions when using injection moulding for the anterior dentition under rubber dam isolation.
  • You should be able to apply layering concepts within injection moulding.
  • You should be able to plan and deliver smile makeovers using injectable resins.
  • You should be able to manage rotated or discoloured teeth as well as existing restorations.

WHAT’S COVERED

  • Isolate premolar to premolar using floss ties.
  • Restore anterior teeth with ‘dentine’ and ‘enamel’ composites.
  • Restore a discoloured central incisor.
  • Restore a misaligned anterior tooth and manage existing restorations.
